A Davidson County Sheriff's Office employee was arrested over the weekend in Murfreesboro after officers found him passed out in his car.
Kevin Cox, 45, was found asleep behind the wheel at the intersection of South Church Street and West Rutherford Boulevard shortly before 4 a.m. Sunday morning.
According to the arrest report, Cox was slumped over in the driver's seat with his foot on the brake and the vehicle still in drive. When he awoke, he lifted his foot off the brake, causing his car to drift into the intersection.
He was arrested after failing field sobriety tests and later admitted he drove from Nashville after consuming alcohol there, according to the report.
Two fully loaded pistols were found in the trunk of Cox's car.
Cox was charged with DUI and possessing a weapon while intoxicated and booked into the Rutherford County jail on a $2,500 bond.
