MURFREESBORO, Tenn. -
Middle Tennessee Medical Center is looking to fill open Registered Nurse and Licensed Practical Nurse positions.
The hospital located in Murfreesboro held a career fair Tuesday to draw in potential candidates.
"We just have a good number of positions open right now, and this is just really a good way to talk to lots of people," Carol Bragdon with MTMC said.
Over the next 10 years, a job in the medical field is expected to be in high demand. Even now, most hospitals have several nursing positions open.
"Pretty much every Web site I've applied for, there's a ton of positions. There are tons of people looking for all kinds of jobs. There's a big turnout here, a lot more than I expected, so I think it's a good field to be in," nursing applicant Kristin Cookston said.
Along with recent college graduate nursing candidates, MTMC also has a need for experienced nurses.
"We do have a need for experienced nurses in particular, and there are so many hospitals and great placed to work in Middle Tennessee that they have their choice of where they would like to work," said Bragdon.
