Mandy Hale opened a Twitter account as a means of therapy of sorts, and now offers love and life advice to others.
NASHVILLE, Tenn. -
Nearly 500,000 are now following a Nashville woman on Twitter as she offers inspirational tweets of advice and encouragement on love and life.
Mandy Hale, or in the world of the social network, Twitter, @TheSingleWoman, began tweeting just over two years ago following a breakup from her boyfriend.
"I started the page on February 1, 2010 and I didn't know what was going to happen, literally had zero followers," Hale recalled.
Since then, her following has grown to more than 430,000, including dozens of celebrities such as Kim Kardashian, Michelle Williams, Paris Hilton and Emily Maynard from ABC's "The Bachelorette."
Hale is the true model of the modern day woman. She's a single, educated 30-something career woman, however, the difference is, she's on a mission to change the mindset of single woman.
"There's still a certain mindset about single women but it's slowly changing," she said, adding, "Empower women across the road. At the end of the day, that's my goal."
In addition to Hale's successful on Twitter, she recently launched her first eBook, "The Single Woman's Sassy Survival Guide: Letting Go and Moving On."
Hale told Nashville's News 2 the book was not only inspired by her personal experiences, but some of her followers.
"I never claim to be a guru, I never claimed to be this self-help goddess who has all the answers, but the thing that I think really speaks to women is that I'm willing to ask the questions and I'm willing to stumble and fall and make a complete fool of myself," she said.
The book was released earlier this year and in the first week, made Amazon's Top 100 List of Best-Selling non-fiction books.
Since its release, Hale has partnered with the legendary David Sims, who helped launch the Oprah Winfrey show in the 1980s.
Hale's book can be purchased on Amazon and will be available soon at Barnes & Noble stores.
In addition to her hundreds of thousands of followers on Twitter, Hale also has thousands of fans reading her blog, TheSingleWoman.net.
