NASHVILLE, Tenn. -
Police at Tennessee State University in Nashville arrested two males early Monday morning outside the residence hall where a student was shot just 24 hours earlier.
The suspects were arrested shortly after 4 a.m. outside Watson Hall, located on the corner of 33rd Avenue North and Alameda Street and were charged with criminal trespassing and drug possession, according to Rick DelaHaya, director of media relations at TSU.
He said the two suspects are not students at the university. Their identities weren't immediately released.
DelaHaya did not know whether the suspects were involved in Sunday morning's shooting inside the dormitory.
An 18-year-old student from Memphis was shot in leg after he was robbed at gunpoint.
Police said the gunman stole the student's laptop computer and gaming system.
The investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
