Teenage pedestrian hit by car in Clarksville dies

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. -

A 17-year-old pedestrian critically wounded last week when he was struck by a car in Clarksville has died.

Clarksville police spokesperson Sgt. Jim Knoll said James Patrick Powers, 17, passed away early Sunday morning at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville.

The teen was hit by a driver on Riverside Drive near McGregor Park last Tuesday evening.

Sgt. Knoll said the investigation is ongoing.

No charges had been filed against the driver, 26-year-old Justin Norton.
