ALTAMONT, Tenn. -

Two young brothers in Grundy County were killed after their go-kart rolled onto a road and was hit by a car.

The accident happened just before 1 p.m. Saturday in the 3600 block of Northcutts Cove Road in Altamont, about 60 miles southeast of Murfreesboro.

According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, the impact sent the go-kart about 100 feet down the road and both boys, 11-year-old Nicholas Keener and four-year-old Calvin Keener, were partially ejected.

Emergency crews responded and found Calvin dead at scene.

His brother was pronounced dead at Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga.

The THP said no one in the car was injured and no charges were expected to be filed.
