Franklin retailer welcomes wintry weather

FRANKLIN, Tenn. -

With an unseasonably warm winter, Mid-State retailers like Bink's Outfitters in Franklin welcomed Sunday's snowy weather.

Flurries began to fall just after 9 a.m. in Williamson County.

Because of relatively warm temperatures, the snow did not stick but continued to fall throughout the morning.

"This is the second time I've worn this jacket all winter," said Mike O'Hara, a Franklin resident.

Shoppers took advantage of discounts up to 40% on items like boots and down coats.

"This is the best time to buy," said Don Tole, a Bink's shopper.

While he appreciates the wintry blast and the bargains that coincided with it, Tole said he is ready to kiss winter goodbye.

"I'm ready for spring," he said.

Employees at Bink's Outfitters say the winter is their most profitable time of year.
