NASHVILLE, Tenn. -
An east Nashville resident received minor injuries as his home went up in flames early Sunday morning. Two firefighters were also injured.
The fire broke out just after 5 a.m. at the home located at 327 Gatewood Avenue.
Officials said when firefighters arrived the home was fully involved, with flames shooting out of the windows.
The resident managed to get out but suffered smoke inhalation and was transported to Baptist Hospital.
Two firefighters were also taken to the hospital for minor burns.
Investigators did not release an official cause of the fire although said candles may have been in use because the house did not have electricity.
The home suffered extensive damage.
