ANTIOCH, Tenn. -
Police are investigating a drive-by shooting in Antioch early Saturday morning that left a 14-year-old boy with serious injuries.
Metro police Capt. Ken Walburn told Nashville's News 2 the shooting happened around 1:30 a.m. on Waikiki Avenue.
Several juveniles were stopped in their SUV when a white Nissan drove by and fired three shots at the SUV.
The driver of the SUV drove away after hearing shots, but one victim, sitting in the third row, was struck once in the abdomen.
After realizing his passenger was injured, the driver took the victim to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he was treated for serious but non-life threatening injuries.
Precinct and youth services detectives were on scene investigating.
A shooter and a motive for the shooting had not been identified.
