17-year-old critically injured after being hit by car

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. -

A 17-year-old pedestrian was critically injured after he was struck by a car in Clarksville Tuesday evening.

The accident was reported around 6 p.m. on Riverside Drive near McGregor Park.

Clarksville police said Justin Norton, 26, was traveling south on Riverside Drive when he switched lanes and hit James Patrick Powers as he exited the park.

Powers suffered injuries to his head and was airlifted to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville for treatment.

He was last listed in critical but stable condition.

Police said the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
