NASHVILLE, Tenn. -
Employees at Emma's Flower Shop in Nashville are gearing up for the busiest day of the year, as Valentine's Day is right around the corner.
Workers at the popular florist told Nashville's News 2 they ordered 10,000 roses last month and received their first Valentine's Day order on January 1.
Employee Jaclyn Dobson said the shop received hundreds of orders on Saturday.
"This is pretty slow right now, yesterday it was crazy. I mean the phones were ringing off the hook. I'd say we probably pulled in about 200 orders yesterday," she said.
Comparing this year to previous, employees said it seems customers are becoming a little more lenient with their budgets.
"People come in and they are not giving us too much of a price limit. They're willing to spend money on roses, candy [and] stuff like that. So I think it's getting better," Lauren Nupp said.
The Nashville-based florist expects to fill around 1,000 Valentine's Day orders.
Customers can place orders through Tuesday.
The shop will open for holiday hours at 7:30 a.m. both Monday and Tuesday.
