Nashville Running Company opens in Music City

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

Most business owners would be disappointed to celebrate their grand opening on the coldest day of the year.

Lee Wilson, owner of brand new Nashville Running Company, is not one of those business owners.

Despite temperatures in the 20s, hundreds of runners showed up to 1105 Woodland Street in the Five Points neighborhood of east Nashville to welcome their new neighbor.

"Some people say runners are crazy," said Tracy Johnson, a runner who attended the grand opening.

"I think were just dedicated because you just get addicted to how you feel."

Wilson, a former Oregon University distance runner, credits his demographic, who he calls "hardcore."

Wilson left the corporate world to follow his true passion.

"It was a good avenue as far as getting into my own business and it's something that I love to do," said Wilson.

The grand opening coincided with the first monthly Five Points Second Saturday.
