SHELBYVILLE, Tenn. -

The two Shelbyville mothers who left seven children home alone while they went to a local bar must attend parenting classes.

Aelisa Stacy and Scottie White were taken into custody last week after a neighbor noticed chaos at White's apartment located at 609 Landers Street.

The two women originally told police they allegedly left the children who range in age from four-months to nine-years-old alone while they walked to a nearby store to purchase diapers.

It was later discovered Stacy and White were with another woman at the Pop-A-Top bar.

White, who is expecting another child later this year, recently told Nashville's News 2 she regrets the mistake she made.

"I was putting myself before my son, but I am sorry for doing that. I really do love him and care about him and I want to get him back," she said, adding, "I know I am a good mom and every mom makes bad decisions and I made a really bad one and I am sorry for doing it, but I mean, if I could take it back I would, but I can't. I have to take one day at a time and hopefully not make any more bad decisions and get my son back."

White said she was not drinking while at the bar and was only hanging out with friends.

Authorities told Nashville's News 2 the Department of Children's Services are still involved in the case; however the children have been placed back in their mothers' care.

Stacy and White are each charged with filing a false report, which is a Class E felony.
