Keith Hunter, 19, was arrested early Thursday on charges he abused a two-year-old child.
CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. -
Police charged a 19-year-old man with abusing a two-year-old child in Clarksville early Thursday morning.
The toddler's mother took the child to the hospital around Midnight for treatment of a possible allergic reaction.
Hospital staff called police after finding bruising and burns all over the child's body.
An investigation revealed the injuries occurred while the child was in the care of Keith Hunter, a friend of the child's mother friend who has been living with the pair since the end of December.
The injuries, believed to have occurred while the child's mother was not present, were consistent with a slap or other disciplinary measures, according to a police release.
Hunter was charged with child abuse and neglect and booked into the Montgomery County jail on a $50,000 bond.
Clarksville police said the Tennessee Department of Children's Services was notified.
