La Vergne approves paving projects

LA VERGNE, Tenn. -

The city of La Vergne announced on Wednesday the board of mayor and alderman has approved several road paving projects.

Officials said the project will likely begin in April, weather permitting.

"The paving work will begin when the weather warms up," said Greg Skinner, director of Public Works. "We are focusing on sections of roads that are in disrepair. We are prioritizing repairs based on traffic count and citizen complaints."

The roads slated for repair work, in order of priority, include the intersection at Old Nashville Highway at Chaney Boulevard intersection, Waldron Road near Mapco, the bridge on Carothers Road, Dick Buchanan Street, two intersections at Sanford Road, La Vergne Lane, Holland Ridge, the intersection of Holland Ridge and La Vergne Lane and Knollwood Road.

Residents may contact the Public Works Department at 615-793-9891 with road concerns, including potholes and street light outages.
