Suspect used dead man's ID to sell stolen cars

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. -

Clarksville police are seeking the public's help identifying a man who used a deceased person's identity after stealing two vehicles.

Police spokesperson Sgt. Jim Knoll said the suspect stole a Nissan Pathfinder and Nissan Frontier and sold them to a salvage yard using Stephen Anthony Tiell's driver's license.

Tiell has been dead since last July.

Police said the vehicles were valued at approximately $9,000.

Anyone with information on the man's identity is urged to call Clarksville police's tips line at 931-645-8477.
