Super Bowl alternatives for non-sports fans

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

The Super Bowl draws the biggest television audience each year, but those who aren't big sports fans still have plenty of other options Sunday night.

Instead of inhaling calories with the usual chips and dip and other game time snacks, burn some off. Snap Fitness on White Bridge Road will be open.

Lindsey Kate with Snap Fitness said, "Well you can work on your fitness. You know, you're doing something that actually helps your body. It gets your week off to a good start. We've got the best equipment. We have the best hours, 24/7 and we also have the best trainers so why not?"

Just call ahead so that you can gain access, and there is a fee.

You can do your homework for the upcoming Oscar's by knocking out a movie or two.  Area theatres, such as Hollywood 27, will be open and you won't have to fight the lines.

Bowling centers, such as AMF Pla-Mor Lanes in south Nashville is a place to have a ball.

Jessica Spencer with AMF Pla-Mor Lanes said, "Most people just don't bowl enough. This bowling center has a great family atmosphere. We have great food, delicious wings, great pizza, cold beer, soda so it's a great affordable, family fun day."

Skipping the big game and having an early Valentine's Day dinner could be the way to go.

The Palm restaurant downtown is open.

General Manager Jonathon Scott said, "Have a nice surf and turf dinner and really score some points with a loved one and bring them down. It would be a nice quite evening, romantic time, so we'd love to have you down here at The Palm."

Some restaurants, typically open on Sunday evenings are closed this Sunday, so if you want to eat out, make sure to call ahead.

Then, there's always the ole stand by-- getting comfortable and knocking out a stack of magazines or starting a book that you've been putting off.

You could also multi-task, by doing a load of laundry.
