CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. -

A driver was killed and three others injured in a two-vehicle, head-on collision Friday morning in Clarksville.

The crash was reported around 7:40 a.m. in the 1500 block of Madison Street, just east of Cumberland Drive.

Police on the scene said Vincent Clark, 31, of Clarksville, was traveling east on Madison Street in a Dodge Durango when he crossed the center line and struck a GMC Sierra pickup truck head-on.

The driver of the truck, Tyler Head, 20, of Clarksville, died on the scene.

His passenger, Lucas Haley, 19, of Springfield, Tenn., was taken by helicopter to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville in extreme critical condition. Haley was in critical but stable condition Saturday.

Police said neither occupant was wearing a seatbelt.

Clark was also taken by helicopter to Vanderbilt for injuries to his head but was listed in stable condition Friday afternoon.

Clark's passenger was Denesha Clark, 26, of Clarksville. She was transported by ambulance to Gateway Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries, treated and released.

Madison Street was shut down from Liberty Parkway to Crossland Avenue for approximately four hours while authorities investigated the crash.  Traffic was diverted onto Crossland Avenue.

Police are unsure what caused the accident and are investigating whether drugs or alcohol were a factor.

Friday's fatality is the first for Clarksville in 2012.

The investigation is ongoing and charges are pending, according to Clarksville police.
