SHELBYVILLE, Tenn. -

The fathers of three young children who were left home alone earlier this week while their mothers went to a local bar say they no longer trust the women to care for them.

David White and Curtis Stacey Jr. were given custody of their children, ranging in age from four months to five years old, while the mothers were in police custody.

"Honestly I don't think they should get them back," Stacey said.

David added, "You're not going to get your kid, I'm going to keep him because he's mine.  I'm going to fight to the end."

The children's mothers, Scottie White and Aelisa Stacey, left a total of seven children home unsupervised while the pair and another woman went to Pop-A-Top bar in Shelbyville.

The children were discovered by a neighbor who reported chaos at the apartment.

Scottie White, who is expecting another child later this year, told Nashville's News 2 on Tuesday she regrets the mistake she made.

"I was putting myself before my son, but I am sorry for doing that. I really do love him and care about him and I want to get him back," she said, adding, "I know I am a good mom and every mom makes bad decisions and I made a really bad one and I am sorry for doing it, but I mean, if I could take it back I would, but I can't. I have to take one day at a time and hopefully not make any more bad decisions and get my son back."

Scottie White says she was not drinking while at the bar and only hanging out with friends.

Both fathers told Nashville's News 2 they will continue to care for their kids and plan on filing for full custody of them.

They said they have not heard from either mother since the incident or from the Tennessee Department of Children's Services.
