Teresitta Jones
NASHVILLE, Tenn. -
Two children were found in a south Nashville hotel room by themselves late Wednesday night.
The children were found around 11:30 p.m. at the Scottish Inn on Murfreesboro Pike by a man visiting a friend at the hotel.
When that man arrived, police said he found a 10-year-old and 18-month-old in the room.
The man called police who responded and worked with management to make entry into the room.
Once inside, officers found the children alone.
Police said there was also evidence of prior drug usage in the room.
Police then notified Youth Services and the Department of Children's Services.
DCS personnel responded and took custody of the children.
While officers were on scene, the mother, Teresitta Jones returned to the room.
Police said the Jones will be charged with reckless endangerment and two counts of child neglect.
