Police taser suspect twice after attempt to flee

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

Metro police used tasers on a man to take him into custody in south Nashville early Thursday morning.

The incident happened just after 12 a.m., midnight, near the corner of Lafayette and Lewis streets.

According to officers, police were patrolling in the area when they saw a man, identified as Prinche Bynum, 29, hide something in the waist of his pants. 

According to officers, Bynum ran when officers tried to speak with him.

As he ran, police said he tossed a handgun. 

When officers caught up with the suspect, police said he resisted arrest.

As a result police used a taser twice on the suspect.

Bynum was taken to a hospital as a precautionary measure. 

He is charged with disorderly conduct and criminal trespassing.
