NASHVILLE, Tenn. -
Many middle Tennessee football players picked their future college teams Wednesday, on National Signing Day.
At Brentwood Academy, Woody Barron decided to sign with Virginia Tech.
"The whole blue collar system they have up there, you go in there and you put in the work, and if you put in the work everyday then you're part of the family," said Barron.
Top offensive line prospect Graham Shuler committed to Stanford.
"I always thought I'd stay close to home in the south, but once I realized what Stanford had to offer, the combination of academics and athletics, everything, the whole combination of the type of people that are out there, I couldn't pass it up," said Shuler.
Ron Aydelott, head football coach at Riverdale High School said, "These young men are going to college for free, and you know, get to live on a dream, and you see that it's a small percentage of kids in a school this size have the opportunity to do this."
The head football coach at Riverdale High School is proud of all his players that signed Wednesday, including Adam Davenport, who signed on to play for the U.S. Navel Academy.
"For me, it was mainly the after part for my future, if I have a wife or kids or anything, that played a big part into it," said Davenport.
In a last minute decision, Battle Ground Academy quarterback C.J. Beathard dropped Ole Miss to head to Iowa.
"When I went to Iowa, they seemed like they really liked me. It felt like a good place to be. It felt like it was the right thing to do and everything," said Beathard.
His grandfather, Bobby Beathard, former general manager of the San Diego Chargers, feels like C.J. is on his way to the pros.
Bobby, Beathard told us, "I know C.J., it's early, but he has plans to play in the NFL."
As for Vanderbilt University, the Commodores coaches said Wednesday should be their highest-regarded signing-day class in the football program's history.
