Police in Clarksville narrowly missed apprehending a man with multiple warrants and who is also a person of interest in a shooting involving an Oak Grove police officer earlier this week.
Just before 9 a.m. Wednesday, police received information that Christopher Jerome Walker, 26, was in room at the Mid-Towner Motel located in the 800 block of Kraft Street.
Officers surrounded the hotel and contacted Walker by phone in an effort to negotiate a voluntary surrender. He instead hung up the phone.
A short time later, officers reviewed surveillance video and determined Walker fled the hotel minutes before officers were able to completely surround the property.
Walker is one of three men wanted in connection to Monday's armed robbery of AC Automotive in Hopkinsville, Kentucky.
He is also a person of interest in a later pursuit on Interstate 24 during which shots were fired at an Oak Grove police officer.
In Clarksville, Walker is wanted for pointing a rifle at a man and threatening him.
He should be considered armed and dangerous.
