Head-on collision closes McMurray Drive

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

A car collided with a van just before 6:30 a.m. Wednesday in the Tusculum area of south Nashville.

According to Metro police, the car was traveling east on McMurray Drive when it crossed over the center line near Edmonson Pike and hit a van traveling in the opposite direction head-on.

The driver of the car was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in critical condition.

The driver of the van was not injured.

McMurray Drive was shutdown while police investigated the crash.

The roadway has since reopened.
