NASHVILLE, Tenn. -
Three people were injured, one critically, in a shooting following a basketball game Tuesday afternoon in east Nashville.
The shooting happened in the 1400 block of Litton Avenue around at 4:15 p.m.
At least two persons exchanged gunfire and three were shot.
Metro police said the investigation shows that a fight broke out between Joseph Hayes, 16, and Deonta Berry, 21, inside the South Inglewood Community Center gym where both were playing basketball.
They were told to leave the center.
A short time later, shots were fired on Litton Avenue near Burns Street.
Berry and William Reeves, 17, were located nearby with gunshot wounds.
Hayes, who was shot in the leg, told detectives he was driven to a Cahal Avenue residence where he was transported by ambulance to Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
Reeves and Berry were also transported to Vanderbilt.
Reeves was last listed in critical condition and Berry in stable condition. Hayes was treated at the hospital and has since been released.
Metro police said there is no indication the shooting was gang motivated.
