LA VERGNE, Tenn. -

La Vergne High School's women basketball team is preparing to take on Riverdale High School on Tuesday night after previously losing to the district rival by more than 90 points.

The Lady Raiders and the Lady Wolverines first met on the court earlier this season when Riverdale beat La Vergne 103 to 10.

"I think it's uncomfortable in the fact that there's some scrutiny," Riverdale head coach John Wild said.

He continued, "We're going to press and we did that for eight minutes.  We're going to be solid half-court man to man defense and we did that for next eight minutes.  And then it was 16 minutes for those kids that night and they went to the bench and we garnered some depth with some other kids that really got a chance to play."

Nashville's News 2 reached out to La Vergne High School's girls' basketball coach to see how they plan on approaching the upcoming game, however, head coach Kim Francis declined to comment.

Dr. Tiffany Breeding works as a sports psychologist. She told Nashville's News 2 despite the major loss, both teams can reflect on what they did correctly and incorrectly.

"I think you have to look at what things we did do well.  Did we do anything well?  And focus on that and carry that on through and find some things that you really didn't go well that you can continue to work on," she explained.

Currently, Riverdale is nationally ranked and holds the top spot in the girls' class 3-A basketball poll, while the roster on La Vergne High School's Web site reflects no seniors on the 2-17 team.

We're going to tell our kids before they hit the floor to play within our system.  Play unselfish, play as a team, play together and try to play extremely hard," Wild said.

The rematch between the two teams is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday at Riverdale High School.
