Police were searching for a gunman after Stephano Griffin, 26, was shot and killed Friday night, just south of downtown Nashville.

The shooting happened around 8:45 p.m. at 18 University Court, north of Lafayette Street in the Tony Sudekum public housing development.

Police said Griffin was arguing with another man before he was shot twice.

The shooter fled the scene.

Griffin was transported to a local hospital, where he later died from his wounds.
