NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

A six-year-old Tennessee girl is recovering Friday after undergoing open heart surgery at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville.

Haley Ball's parents and eight-year-old brother traveled from Kingsport in east Tennessee for the surgery and are staying at the Hilton Hotel downtown.

Prior to her surgery Thursday night, Haley and her family were taken out for a night on the town thanks the Medical Concierge Program.

The program is a partnership between the hotel and hospital to make out of town patients feel at ease.

"She's kind of taken over the hotel, asking questions, meeting people, she's just precious," Hilton's marketing director Melanie Fly told Nashville's News 2 of Haley.

She added, "I think if everybody had that attitude we'd be in good shape.  She's just has a bubbly spirit and takes it all in and she's just been a delight to have here."

Thursday's VIP trip included a limo ride through downtown and dinner at Maggiano's Italian restaurant on West End Avenue.

Officials at Vanderbilt University said Friday Haley was listed in stable condition following her surgery.
