MANCHESTER, Tenn. -

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation on Wednesday arrested a Coffee County woman amid allegations she embezzled thousands of dollars from her employer.

Carolyn Bell Jones, 60, of Manchester, worked as the bookkeeper for Vickers Concrete Reinforcing, Inc. from 2004 to 2011.

She was fired last year after company owners linked missing funds to suspicious transactions Jones had made.

During her employment, Jones is alleged to have stolen approximately $240,000 by paying her personal expenses out of company funds then altering the records to cover up the theft, according to the TBI.

She was indicted by a grand jury earlier this month and booked into the Coffee County jail on Wednesday.

Her bond was set at $50,000.
