ASHLAND CITY, Tenn. -
A man who fled from courthouse officials in Cheatham County last month after a judge revoked his bond has turned himself in.
Dennis Scruggs surrendered to authorities with his attorney by his side late Wednesday.
Scruggs, of Chapmansboro, was indicted last August on a theft charge and appeared in a Cheatham County courtroom for an arraignment hearing in December.
As he was being taken to the jail, Scruggs got away from security officers and fled, attempting to run over a sheriff's deputy who fired a gunshot in his direction.
Scruggs faces aggravated assault charges in connection to the incident.
