A fire in the kitchen of a south Nashville restaurant caused minor damage late Wednesday morning.
Workers at Norman Cousher's Country Cooking told fire officials the blaze began around 11 a.m. when they turned on a grill.
The flames were contained to a vent above the grill although the kitchen suffered smoke and water damage.
The restaurant is located in the Windlands Shopping Center on Nolensville Pike, across the street from the Nashville Zoo.
About a half-dozen employees in the restaurant at the time escaped without injury.
Nolensville Pike was shut down for about 10 minutes while crews extinguished the fire.
The road reopened just before 11:30 a.m.
Additional information was not released.
