3 injured in Ashland City shootout

ASHLAND CITY, Tenn. -

Three men were shot during a drunken dispute Monday night in Ashland City.

The Cheatham County Sheriff's Office told Nashville's News 2 the dispute began around 6 p.m. at a home on Bandy Road when one of the men told the other two to leave because they were too intoxicated.

Officers said the two men left but threatened to return with weapons.

They did return a short time later, prompting a shootout.

The victim was shot three times.

The two suspects were also injured.  Police said one was shot in the chest and the other was possibly shot and stabbed.

The suspects fled the scene to a home on Carlton Road where police located and arrested them.

The victim and one of the suspects were flown by helicopter to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville in critical condition.

Nashville's News 2 spoke with a neighbor who said the victim had been running from the men all day.

The names of the victim and suspects were not immediately released.
