Metro police are investigating allegations a former teacher at Montgomery Bell Academy in Nashville had a sexual encounter involving three students.
The middle school English teacher was fired last week, sources told Nashville's News 2.
The allegations involve an eleventh grade student at Montgomery Bell and two students from another well-known private school in Nashville.
Metro police spokesperson Don Aaron said the department's sex crimes unit is investigating.
"As the result of information received by the police department's sex crimes unit on Monday, January 23, an investigation is underway into a then-teacher at Montgomery Bell Academy's potential illegal conduct involving a minor," Aaron said in a written statement sent to Nashville's News 2 Tuesday. "The investigation is in its infancy and will be active for the next several days."
Founded in 1867, Montgomery Bell is a college preparatory school for young men in grades 7-12, according to its Web site.
