NASHVILLE, Tenn. -
Many airlines at the Nashville International Airport recently announced that they plan to increase airline tickets up to $20.
Delta Airlines was the first to raise their prices on Thursday morning, with several other airlines including Southwest and Frontier also increasing their prices.
The increase in airfare, which will affect all long haul flights, can be blamed on the rising gas prices throughout the country.
Those traveling more than 1,500 miles away from Nashville, including Los Angeles and Las Vegas can expect to pay more.
On average, gasoline is $3.26 per gallon in the Mid-State, but those prices are expected to reach $4 in upcoming months.
Industry experts predict that other services and items will also soon increase their prices and fees due to rising gas prices.
