NASHVILLE, Tenn. -
A decommissioned Metro police officer has been fired for misconduct that resulted in his arrests on sex crimes and aggravated child abuse charges.
Jeffery Poole was fired from the Metro Police Department on Wednesday after he failed to for a hearing on his charges earlier this month.
Poole was arrested in November for child abuse charges after his 16-year-old son said he struck him in the head multiple times with a trophy during an argument.
He was also arrested in 2010 after several women alleged he sexually assaulted four women while on duty.
He was acquitted of sexual battery and official misconduct charges at a trial in November.
Poole has 15 days to appeal his dismissal to the Civil Service Commission.
This is the second Metro officer to be fired this week due to misconduct.
Officer Donald Lawman was fired on Monday following a disciplinary hearing into allegations that he obtained prescription medication by fraud.
