CNN Correspondent Samantha Fisher joined WKRN-TV in January 2012 as co-anchor of Nashville's News 2 at 10.
Ms. Fisher comes to Nashville from CNN in Washington, DC. For the past four years she has worked as a political correspondent for "Running Mate" and "The Situation Room."
Prior to CNN Ms. Fisher was in Salt Lake City working as an Anchor/Reporter at KSL-Television.
Ms. Fisher is an Atlanta native who graduated from the University of Georgia and began her broadcast journalism career at WRDW in Augusta, Georgia working as a reporter and morning anchor.
She has received several awards including; the Peabody Award for CNN's 2008 Presidential Primary Campaigns and Debates and the Society of Professional Journalists, Spot News Award in 2004.
"Samantha combines a strong background in hard news reporting with real warmth on the news desk. That's a rare combination that will be a plus for Nashville's news viewers," according to Nashville's News 2 General Manager Stan Knott.

The 10 p.m. newscast was Nashville's No. 2 late news program among adults 25-54 in November 2011.
