Worker injured in fall at TVA plant

CUMBERLAND CITY, Tenn. -

A worker was injured Thursday after falling at the Tennessee Valley Authority's Fossil Power Plant in Cumberland City.

Officials said the worker fell over a railing and down three stories while he was lowering an undisclosed item by a rope around 10 a.m.

The worker was not a TVA employee and contracted to work at the plant.

He was flown to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville.

An investigation into the accident is underway.

The worker's name or condition was not immediately released.

Cumberland City is located in Stewart County, about 70 miles northwest of Nashville.
