NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

Despite reports Titans' head coach Mike Munchak is a top candidate to take over as head coach of the Penn State Nittany Lions, he says he has no interest in the position.

Munchak told Nashville's News 2 Wednesday he has no plans to leave the Volunteer State.

"They haven't contacted me in any way, haven't talked to me about any possibility of me working there.  I haven't reached out to them in any way.  I have a job I enjoy quite a bit. So that's kind of where it's at," he said.

The 51-year-old coach played football for Penn State from 1978 to 1981 under former head coach Joe Paterno.

"For people to assume that I'd be a good fit there, like I said, that's flattering that people would think that, but it's not something that's going to happen right now for me," Munchak said.

Munchak has worked for the Oilers and Titans coaching staff since 1994.  In February, he was named head coach of the Titans, replacing Jeff Fisher.

Also among the buzz for a new head coach at PSU is Green Bay Packers quarterbacks coach Tom Clements.
