Deputies with the Wilson County Sheriff's Department are working to arrest more than 50 individuals Thursday recently indicted on a variety of drug-related charges.
Wilson County Sheriff Terry Ashe said the grand jury returned 84 indictments on 52 people on charges ranging from the sale and possession of controlled substances to the manufacturing of such substances.
Several of those indicted are known gang members with the Vice Lords and Crips and hold rank in the organizations, according to the sheriff.
Some charged have exposed children to the illegal activities and will have additional charges for child endangerment.
Ashe said while many of those indicted are "frequent fliers," others are first time drug dealers.
He said the department planned to seize several vehicles and issue a number of search warrants throughout the day on Thursday in attempt to get all involved behind bars.
The operation, launched by the department four months ago, is ongoing.
