David Graves, 29, is charged with one court of attempted criminal homicide.
HARTSVILLE, Tenn. -
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has charged a Hartsville man with shooting a Trousdale County sheriff's deputy during a domestic call earlier this week.
David Graves was charged with one count of attempted criminal homicide after he was released from the hospital Wednesday morning.
The 29-year-old Graves was booked into the Trousdale County jail although is being housed in the Wilson County jail on a $2 million bond.
Trousdale County deputy Sgt. Harold Cooley and others responded to a domestic call at Graves' home in the 100 block of Coker Lane just before 1 a.m. Monday.
Upon arrival, deputies found Graves armed with a shotgun.
Graves shot Sgt. Cooley in the face and Cooley shot Graves twice.
Both men were transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville.
TBI agents arrested Graves after he was discharged from Vanderbilt.
Sgt. Cooley remained at Vanderbilt Thursday afternoon where he was listed in stable condition.
