Tip leads to arrest of alleged Target shoplifter

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

A tip to Crime Stoppers led to Thursday's arrest of a woman wanted for her alleged involvement in three separate shoplifting incidents at the Target on Charlotte Pike in west Nashville.

Denise Colon, 26, was located at a residence on Freedom Drive off Westbrook Drive in west Nashville and taken into custody without incident.

On September 16, police said a uniformed Target loss prevention agent attempted to stop Colon as she pushed her shopping cart toward the exit without paying for the merchandise.

Colon struck the agent before fleeing the store and left behind a small child who was carried off by an unidentified female associate.

Colon was also identified by police as they person who took merchandise, including electronics and clothing, from the same Target location on September 3 and again on September 14.

Colon was charged with theft, attempted theft and assault and booked into the Metro jail on a $10,500 bond.
