Pat Summitt happy to be back at practice

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Pat Summitt says she is glad to be back at practice with her Tennessee squad after revealing during the offseason that she's been diagnosed with dementia.

The coach says she'd much rather talk about basketball than about her prognosis.

Summitt revealed to her team and the rest of the world in late August that she had been diagnosed over the summer with early onset dementia, Alzheimer's type. The 59-year-old Hall of Fame coach says she wanted to go ahead and deal with the news then so she could focus on basketball when the season arrived.

She said Wednesday after the team's first practice of the season that the Lady Vols seem even more motivated to win a championship because of her diagnosis.
