KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Tennessee sophomore wide receiver Justin Hunter has had successful surgery to repair a torn ligament in his left knee.

Hunter tore his ACL on the third play of Tennessee's 33-23 loss at Florida on Sept. 17 when he landed awkwardly after jumping to catch a pass.

Hunter had surgery on Wednesday and is expected to be available for the Volunteers' spring practice.

The 6-foot-4, 200-pound Virginia Beach, Va., native has caught 17 passes for 314 yards and two touchdowns this season in three games. In 16 career games he has 33 catches for 729 yards and nine touchdowns.
