NASHVILLE, Tenn. - It was a day of celebration Sunday at Priest Lake Presbyterian Church.
Over 200 people packed the sanctuary for the first time in nearly six months.
In February, the congregation's sanctuary was destroyed by an EF-2 tornado.
The roof was ripped off by powerful winds, destroying nearly everything inside.
"Of course it was heart breaking when it happened because of course you don't want to walk in and see a hole in the roof of your church, but everybody rallied quickly," said church member Leesa Fields.
The church suffered nearly one million dollars in damage.
For the past five months, members have worked to restore the building, replacing nearly everything inside and out.
"We've got new paint, new floors, new upper stained glass windows and a new parking lot as well," said pastor Paul Burns.
The church will celebrate its 30th anniversary on Monday.
