NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A known gang member wanted by Metro police on murder charges is behind bars in Nashville following a shooting outside a south Nashville McDonald's Wednesday afternoon that left a 15-year-old boy wounded.

The shooting happened around 1:50 p.m. in the parking lot of the restaurant located in the 1100 block of Murfreesboro Pike near Briley Parkway, just west of the Nashville International Airport.

Suspected gunman Christian Gutierrez was taken into custody without incident at a home on Winthorne Drive a few hours later and charged with attempted murder.

Gutierrez, 19, is under indictment for the October 2010 fatal shooting of Henry Harrison.

Harrison, who also known as Jesse Perez, was fatally wounded while walking on Lutie Street.

Gutierrez was also wanted for questioning by cold case detectives in connection to the February 2009 shooting death of Melissa Ann Tyler Ramirez inside her Hermitage home.

Gutierrez is affiliated with the Brown Pride gang.

The 15-year-old shot multiple times, including once in the chest, is believed to be affiliated with a rival gang.

He was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where police said he was last listed in stable condition.

Metro Police Commander Mike Alexander told Nashville's News 2 two acquaintances of the victim who were present at the time of the shooting were taken into police custody for questioning.

One of the teens, a 13-year-old, was armed with a pistol.

Gutierrez, who was riding in a Honda Civic, apparently had words with the 15-year-old prior to the shooting.

After the shooting, the Honda fled.

The driver later went to Metro's central precinct and told detectives what happened.

He was not charged.

Gutierrez is being held in the Metro jail on $1.5 million bond.
