JACKSON, Tenn. (AP) - A former Madison County constable has been moved from the county jail to a state prison to serve his 35-year sentence.
Sheriff David Woolfork's office said Michael A. Presson was transferred to state correction authorities in Henning on Monday, according to The Jackson Sun.
The 67-year-old Presson was sentenced in June to serve his prison time at 100%. A jury convicted him in April of 22 sex counts, including 11 counts of child rape.
Presson was found guilty of having sex with a 12-year-old girl.
The victim said in a statement to the court that she was 10 when the abuse began.
