
GALLATIN, Tenn. – The Gallatin Police Department is continuing to investigate multiple cases of credit card fraud.
Authorities told Nashville's News 2 since last week, the department has received 21 card fraud reports.
According to police, no specific business has been identified in Gallatin, though many of the cards were used at businesses located in the Vol State-Greensboro area.
Police said it is likely a skimming device is being used to obtain victim's information.
Skimming devices can be handheld and utilized by clerks in businesses or be attached to gas pumps, ATM machines or self-check out locations.
Citizens are encouraged to frequently check their bank and credit card accounts for unusual activity.
The Sumner County Sheriff's Office and Hendersonville police are also working numerous fraud reports.
