NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Nashville Humane Society has declared the month of June as "Adopt-A-Cat-Month."
During the month long campaign, adoption fees have been dramatically reduced in an attempt to help place 100 cats and kittens in permanent homes.
"All adult cats are ranging from $0 to $28 and all kittens have been reduced to $65 adoption fees," explained Lisa Reeves with the Nashville Humane Society.
According to Reeves all of the felines up for adoption have already been spayed or neutered and have already undergone their first round of vaccinations.
Nearly three weeks into the adoption campaign, 48 cats have already been adopted.
In 2010, the Nashville Humane Society adopted out 2,718 animals.
