NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The trouble surrounding Tennessee Titans wide receiver Kenny Britt continues.
Britt is wanted by Metro police on two outstanding warrants sworn out by the Tennessee Highway Patrol.
Police spokesman Don Aaron first told The Tennessean Britt made inaccurate statements on his driver's license application on at least one occasion. The charge is a misdemeanor.
Aaron said officers attempted to serve Britt with the warrants at his residence on April 14 but he wasn't home.
Police don't believe he's been back in Nashville since.
Britt's attorney, Jonathan Farmer, said his client plans to cooperate.
"When he gets back [to Nashville] he is going to cooperate fully and we are looking forward to getting that resolved in a quick manner,'' Farmer said. "He takes it seriously and is looking forward to getting it resolved."
Britt has been involved in several incidents with police since he was drafted by Tennessee in 2009.
He was arrested just last week in his home state of New Jersey, one day after pleading guilty to careless driving charges stemming from an arrest in his hometown earlier this year.
Former Titans head coach Jeff Fisher told Nashville's News 2 Monday he feels partly responsible for Britt's recent legal troubles.
"I didn't get called but I'm following it closely," Fisher said. "It's not an easy thing. Somehow deep down you still feel responsible or that you want to help and I hope he can get things sorted out."
