FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) - The Kentucky Law Enforcement Memorial Foundation has awarded $28,000 in scholarships to 25 students in Kentucky. The Gerald F. Healy Kentucky Law Enforcement Memorial Foundation Scholarships were given to telecommunicators, dependents of law enforcement officers and survivors of officers who died in the line of duty.

RICHMOND, Ky. (AP) - Eastern Kentucky University's Board of Regents has approved a tobacco-free campus policy. The use of tobacco on all property that is owned, leased, occupied or controlled by the university will be prohibited effective June 1.

PIKEVILLE, Ky. (AP) - An effort to provide commercial air service between Pikeville, Ky., and Nashville, Tenn., has stalled. Appalachian Air had been scheduled to start offering flights last week, but the initiative has been delayed because the airport in Pikeville hasn't yet obtained all the proper certifications.

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (AP) - A public television program premiering next month will feature video shot last year at Western Kentucky University, where a couple of faculty members have been testing the bite force of shark teeth. A production crew working on an episode of NOVA titled "Why Sharks Attack" visited the labs of biology faculty member Steve Huskey and engineering faculty member Chris Byrne last July.
